What we can do for your project
Scanning, reverse engineering, CAD design and prototyping — available individually. If all you need is a scan, some extracted geometry or one bracket designed, that's a job we're happy to take.
Evening and weekend appointments — we book scanning, drop-offs and on-site visits for the hours most project builds actually happen. Enquiries and files are answered by email any day of the week.
01 — Service
3D Scanning
We capture parts, components and assemblies as digital geometry you can design against. Professional 3D and laser scanning, chosen to suit the size and detail of the job rather than one fixed piece of hardware.
When it's useful
- The part has no drawings, no CAD and no supplier data
- You need to know what actually fits in the space you have
- You want mounting and interface geometry captured as-is
- You need to compare a modified part against an original
- The item is awkward to measure by hand

02 — Service
Reverse Engineering & Geometry Extraction
A large scan mesh is rarely the useful end product. We pull the geometry you can actually design from: hole centres, axes, planes, diameters, profiles, sections, interfaces and clearances, referenced to something sensible.
When it's useful
- You want dimensions and datums, not a heavy mesh file
- A mating part has to line up with something that already exists
- You need a part rebuilt as clean, editable geometry
- Someone else is doing the design and needs reliable inputs
Typical outputs
- Hole centres, axes, planes and datum structure
- Sections, profiles and key diameters
- Clean CAD geometry rebuilt from scan data
- A dimensioned summary of the design-critical features
Example applications
- Mounting face and bolt pattern extracted from a scanned housing
- Profile of a worn or damaged part recovered for remake

03 — Service
CAD Modelling & Design
We work from whatever you have: scans, measurements, a sketch on paper, photos, the physical part, or existing CAD. The output is a model designed around the real geometry, aimed at the part working rather than looking like a product render.
When it's useful
- You need a bracket, adapter or mount that does not exist
- An off-the-shelf part is close but needs modifying
- You want to check fitment before anything is cut or printed
- You need a model suitable for printing, machining or cutting
Typical outputs
- Native and neutral CAD (STEP, IGES) models
- 2D drawings where they are useful
- Fitment and packaging studies
- Files ready for print, laser, waterjet or CNC
Example applications
- Caliper mounting bracket designed to scanned hub geometry
- Adapter plate between two components that were never meant to meet
- Oil pan or sump packaging worked around what is already there

04 — Service
Prototyping & Functional Fabrication
Designs get proven physically. We produce test pieces, fit-check parts, fixtures and simple one-off components, focused on fit and function rather than show-quality finishing.
When it's useful
- You want to check a fit before committing to metal
- A one-off functional part is all the job needs
- You need a fixture or jig to hold something while you work
- A design needs a physical round or two before it is right
Typical outputs
- 3D-printed prototypes and fit-check parts
- Simple functional one-off components
- Fixtures and jigs
- A revised design once the physical part has been tried
Example applications
- Printed mock-up used to confirm clearance before machining
- One-off bracket made to suit a specific vehicle
- Test piece used to check an interface fits both sides

Ready to make it?
We can provide CAD models and drawings suitable for external manufacture — CNC machining, 3D metal printing, laser cutting, waterjet and similar. Where appropriate, we can also help arrange manufacture through third-party suppliers.
We're not a production shop, and we don't make every final part ourselves. Safety-critical or regulated components are considered case-by-case.
